🌱 What about fruits and vegetables:
Most of the food we eat today didn't exist a 100 years ago. It's easier to explain to someone why these modern food inventions damage our health versus more "ancient" foods like fruits and vegetables. But the truth is we don't have "ancient" fruits and vegetables anymore. We have year-round access to artificially selected, bred, and engineered foods.
While this is a short and simple visual representation, the transformation of plant-based foods has gone way beyond this. For example, the number of patents on plants has increased from less than 120 in 1990 to over 12,000 today. ( r)

🥩 Who I'm following on Instagram:
I've really been enjoying following Meat Health on Instagram lately! Ok, yes, it is my account, but as you may have noticed, it's not just pictures of my meals anymore.
We are picking up the Meat Health Instagram game (thanks to Matt Quinn):
We have plans for more educational posts (i.e. like turning some of my 10,000+ word essays into simple, digestible infographics :) as well as some fun posts, recipes, and more.
The goal is to continue to build the Meat Health Community. We have a good start via our private Facebook Group, but looking to spread our wings a bit more. Ultimately, Instagram is just another "tool" we want to sharpen to spread the controversial idea: Meat = Health

🔟 What 10 things I'm working on:
I'm working on building Meat Health's 1st 10 Systems and finding its 1st 10 people. As any team grows (implicit) norms are created. But norms can be created by
default or by design. Building the right systems with the right people sets (explicit) norms from the onset that become "self-policing."
When you get a great group of ten great people, it becomes self-policing who they let into that group.
While the idea of setting up the right systems with the right people applies to building a business, it equally applies in our individual lives. You can either workout when you feel like it, or you can intentionally have a system and surround yourself with others who run a similar system, thereby creating your explicit norm.

⭕ How to achieve work-life balance:
My weekends are very similar to my weekdays. So much so that I'm predisposed to messing up what day of the week it is as I don't have the same "weekend anchor" that others seem to have. But to me, the idea of work-life balance operates under a false assumption that work and life are in opposition to each other. I see it much more like this:

⏱ What does time = ?
This week bitcoin became legal tender in El Salvador. Then Ukraine legalized it (joining the fold with Cuba and Germany, and Panama seems like they're next). The dominos are starting to fall. Many are saying Bitcoin's time is here; others, that Bitcoin is time.

While I'd love it if you follow Meat Health on Instagram, the most important thing to follow is your own script. It's funny, I wrote a book about this, but I still find that I have to remind myself, and prevent myself from wandering off into a script that
society, culture, media, or someone else wrote.
