📆 What happened in the 1st 90 days:
Prior to that, the Academy was over a year in the making, and really the culmination of the last 2 decades of research and experimentation to find the optimal human diet for health and fitness.
And it's gratifying to hear what the students are saying about the program (and perhaps even more gratifying to see their results).
Ok enough student brags :) let's get to some nutritional research news...

🐮 vs 🌱 Who wins? (Animal Protein vs Plant Protein):
The "ounce equivalents" of protein food sources as expressed in the DGAs [dietary guidelines for Americans] are not metabolically equivalent...
"Consumption of ounce equivalents of animal-based protein food sources (beef sirloin, pork loin, eggs) resulted in a greater gain in whole-body net protein balance above baseline than the ounce equivalents of plant-based protein food sources (tofu, kidney beans, peanut butter, mixed nuts; P < 0.01)."

🏎 What 2 fields everyone has to learn (on their own):
I went through a lot of traditional schooling: 4 years of high school, 4 years of undergraduate (with degrees in chemistry, biology, and business), 4 years of dental school, and ongoing continual education.
But the 2 fields of paramount importance, I was hardly taught. And what little was covered in my traditional education, was largely terrible advice.
It's why my most valuable education has been self-education: books, online courses, podcasts, articles, videos, and content produced by people who were able to look outside the box of traditional education.
It's one of the main reasons I write this newsletter, and why you see at the top of every Saturday 7: "weekly roundup on health and wealth..."
As I explain in an analogy at the of the Meat Health Masterclass, my core desire is to get the most out of life and the only way I can do that is to get the most out of myself.
I liken "health and fitness" to driving a Ferrari. A Ferrari is cool, it has a nice body and sleek shape. I like the way it looks and that's great-and-all, but it can also take me where I want to go, and it can do it fast. It's also a well-oiled machine that can go far. If you create a "Ferrari" of health and fitness, you can travel in style, you can go far, you can go fast, and thus see and experience the most terrain (i.e. get the most out of life).
Whereas, if health and fitness suffer, it's like driving a big old junker, that can't go fast or far. It's always breaking down and holding you back from going where you want to go in life and doing what you want to do and experiencing all life has to offer.
And while health and fitness is primary, money is like an extra accelerant. When combined with the Ferrari of health and fitness you can get an even bigger boost to amplify life.

If we continue our Ferrari analogy...
Question: What holds people back from getting their Ferrari (health and fitness) and propelling it with the best propellent / accelerant (money)?
Like a crab trying to escape a bucket, just to be pulled back in by the crabs at the bottom, there are forces that try and prevent you from upgrading to a Ferrari, from upgrading to the premium fuel accelerant.

📚 How many have you read?
Apparently these are the 50 most influential books of all time. And I've only read a handful. Shameful. But scrolling through the list, I didn't really get a desire to rush to the library. However, it would probably be a worthwhile endeavor to study there synopses's and core theses's ( as discussed last week...adding it to the to-do list! :)
