📝 What strategy I'm using:
- I take a lot of notes. Even on subjects that I know I'm not likely to reference. I do it because the act of note taking substantially enhances learning and retention. I've been in a multi-day seminar this week, and before it started I reviewed these note taking strategies. My standard 2 methods are the Outline and Mapping
Methods. But I'm incorporating the Cornell Method now too. Give it a try while reading the protein article :)

🗺 What is hard to track:
- You've probably heard the famous quote by legendary manager Peter Drucker: "What gets measured, gets managed." The problem is what matters most is often the hardest to measure. How do you align small daily activities with broad goals, dreams, and aspirations? I like this approach to measuring productivity.
"Let’s say I start with “essays written” as a metric for my productivity as a writer. In the beginning, it’s pretty good—it tracks well the growth of my audience. But over time, I might hit my target by sacrificing research or editing. Quantity no longer generates quality, so the metric becomes less helpful."

👀 What was a 1st:
- The last month I've worked on drawing my eye. I consider this my 1st real creative drawing, combining realism with creative embellishment. It was also the 1st time I documented my daily progress, and turned it into a 1-minute "time lapse" of the 27 day process.

🧠 What quote I've been thinking about:

🐶 What old dog is trying to learn a new trick:
- Large companies generally have a difficult time reinventing themselves (here's a fantastic 4 minute explanation why). A rare exception that comes to mind is Microsoft. They found a way to successful pivot to the cloud. And it looks like Walmart is trying to do the same (just 15 years late). They are attempting to go toe-to-toe with Amazon, with "Walmart+" a $98/year subscription giving you same-day and 2-hour delivery, product deals, a new entertainment/TV platform, and gas discounts. And although I'd usually bet against old giants like Walmart trying to learn a new trick, they do have a one major competitive advantage: 70% of US households are within 5
miles of a Walmart. They are the grocery behemoth. And if they can piggyback their physical presence into a dual physical-cloud via perks, they could eat into Amazon's market share.

🤔 What day is it:
- Has time felt strange the last few months? One minute I think time is flying by, the next it feels like 10 years have passed. Here's an interesting look at why time seems distorted.
