š What had me rolling on the groundĀ -Ā
- Joe Rogan, comic and host of one of the most popular podcasts in the world, had me rolling on the ground. He is doing a Carnivore Diet 30 Day Challenge and posted a hilarious / awesomeĀ update:
"Carnivore diet update; the good and the bad.
Letās start with the bad.
Thereās really only one ābadā thing, and that thing is diarrhea. Iām not sure diarrhea is an accurate word for it, like I donāt think a shark is technically a fish. Itās a different thing, and with regular diarrhea I would compare it to a fire you see coming a block or two away and you have the time to make an escape, whereas this carnivore diet is like out of nowhere the fire is coming through the cracks, your doorknob is red hot, and all hope is lost. I
havenāt shit my pants yet, but Iāve come to accept that if I keep going with this diet itās just a matter of time before we lose a battle, and I fill my undies like a rainforest mudslide overtaking a mountain road. Itās that bad. It seems to be getting a little better every day, so thereās that to look forward to, but as of today I trust my butthole about as much as I trust a shifty neighbor with a heavy Russian accent that asks a lot of personal questions.
The good:
Now, Iām well aware of the placebo effect and Iām constantly self-analyzing every perceived reaction Iām having to eating only meat for almost 2 weeks straight, but one thing Iām fairly sure of is that my energy levels are higher and steadier throughout the day. This seems undeniable. I donāt know if itās a temporary effect and if maybe itās just the result of eating really disciplined, but either way it seems to be real. Iāve also felt really āhealthyā (other than the sporadic
bouts of hellacious projectile doodoo). Again, I donāt know if this is real or imagined, but I actually seem to feel happier and more balanced. This is the only time in my life Iāve ever tried eliminating carbs for more than a day or so, and since I started the diet a couple days before January Iām now about 13 days in, at least 7 pounds lighter, and in completely uncharted territory for me. Which makes me think this is probably completely uncharted territory for 99% of the people
on earth."

- From talking with tens of thousands of people who have transitioned into the carnivore diet, I can tell you the "bad"Ā is very common. It's one of the main reasonsĀ I wrote the 30 Day Guide to Going Full CarnivoreĀ (someone should tell him to read it). But not only is
"the bad" common, but so isĀ "the good." I can't tell you how many people have told me the same thing that Joe said - that their "energy levels are higher," they "feel healthierĀ and happier,"Ā and "lighter from all the weight loss."

Ā āĀ What business lessons I learned from CostcoĀ -Ā
- Costco has a genius business playbook. By puttingĀ customers and employees over shareholders, and breaking many "rules of retail," they have been able to successfullyĀ fight against giants like Walmart.
- Here's 4 P's of their playbook:
- Price: they operate on small margins but huge volume, whichĀ gives them mass appeal
- Products: with less than 4,000 items (10X fewer than most supermarkets) they simplify shopping for consumers with high quality, good value itemsĀ
- Plan:Ā their membership createsĀ anĀ exclusive group, but one that isn't out of reach (90% renewal rate)
- People: they invest in their people, paying nearly 2X more than Walmart

š What battle I fight every day -
- There is one specific battle that I fight every day. It's the struggle between being proactive vs reactive. Between pushing into the unknown vs operating in the status quo. Between creating the new and maintaining the old. I found a way to get a leg up in this battle. Structuring my days like this:
- A.M. = CreateĀ
- P.M. = Operate
- I know that if I start my day trying to get through emails, DMs, texts, social comments, blog questions, and customer service tickets, I'll never actually make anything. I'll lose the battle every time.Ā
