Walking pace may be one of the best predictors of death.

Our analysis found that walking pace was the strongest single predictor of death.

This is a particularly interesting analysis when you take into account that hips don't lie: Plant-based diets increase hip fracture risk (r)

In a meta-analysis of 4 cohort studies in over half a million people, both vegetarian diets and vegan diets were associated with a higher risk of hip fracture...and likely subsequent slower walking pace.

🎭 Who is(n't) Satoshi:

The New York Times published a piece claiming to have finally unmasked pseudonymous creator of bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, as Adam Back.

Back hit back.

The story went viral. However, Adam Back has been floated as a Satoshi candidate for years because he was an early member of the cypherpunk community and inventor of Hashcash, the proof-of-work system cited by Satoshi in the Bitcoin white paper.

Only Satoshi can access a set of cryptographic keys that could unlock around one million bitcoins that had never moved. Those keys are the only way to prove beyond any doubt who Satoshi is. Everything else is just circumstantial.

But the overwhelming evidence is that Satoshi gave us Bitcoin and walked away, and because of this selfless act, Bitcoin became a leaderless, decentralized network, immune to the sway of any central leader or inventor.
