🦷 What is important:

The original (2011) Leisure World Cohort Study found that older adults who never flossed had about a 30% higher risk of death.

More recently, a 2025 analysis from the ARIC study, found that flossing at least once a week was associated with:

• 22% lower risk of ischemic stroke
• 44% lower risk of cardioembolic stroke
• 12% lower risk of atrial fibrillation

If you eat a modern diet, flossing is important.
