Last week I mentioned I've been thinking about signing off.

This Saturday 7 newsletter — 7 insights at 7 a.m. in a 7 minute read — has gone out for 7 years, during which 7 million newsletters have been read.

Poetic perfection.

I wondered if the stars 7's aligning were a sign to sign off.

But I received an outpour of emails telling me to ignore the signs and just do another 7 years 😂

Thank you for all the kind messages 🙏

I can't promise 7 more years, but I'll keep showing up for our weekly Saturday morning time together :)

🦷 What I am writing:

My 2025 Challenge is to write a book called, "The Human Diet." 

It'll be a journey through history to uncover the human diet from the perspective of the mouth.

Based on last weeks vote, your favorite subtitle was:

"What your teeth say you should eat."

I loved the other suggestions too, like:

• The lost wisdom hiding in your teeth
• The biting history
• Teeth tell the tale (or truth)

Thank you for all the input! 

The final subtitle decision doesn't have to be made for a long time, so I'll keep chewing on these.

In the newsletter, I'll summarize sections and ask for editing help, so thank you in advance for your continued input!!!

Here's the 1st paragraph a Chapter 1.

🛌 What else I'll be writing about:

Per usual, the Saturday 7 will have a nutrition section, but I'm planning to have a section dedicated to sleep too.

Chapters 5 and 6 of the book, "The Industrial Diet" and "The Information Diet," discuss the dietary changes that led to a shrinking jaw and a fattening tongue, a combination that leads to bad breathing and bad sleep (snoring and sleep apnea).

This obviously ties in with SnoreBuds which I developed to help fix sleep disordered breathing. 

They will launch mid-year, after a cohort of Saturday 7 readers complete the formal SnoreBuds Study!

To recap: we'll have Saturday 7 sections on meat, teeth, and sleep!

Oh, and I love body composition stuff too, so of course, I'll talk fat loss and muscle building. 

And now that we're talking about it, I'm really interested in all things health optimization. For example, I'm doing a red and UBV light experiment right now. 

Ok to re-recap: All things health will all be in the first 3 sections of the Saturday 7 :)

💡 How to live better:

Per usual, in this 4th section of the newsletter, I like to have a "how to" on self-improvement, habits, making positive change, going for it, creativity, life lessons, business lessons, and listening to yourdrum.

Here I'll continue to share my "Challenges" and lessons learned.

I'm in the trenches with you. 

I'll share updates on everything from how I'm using AI (2024 Challenge) to pencil drawings and music releases (2019 and 2020 Challenges).

Not everyone loved the song release — “Easy Ride” — which was my 5-year update from the 2020 Challenge 😂

But for the 1st time, I’m working on a song that I really enjoy. The demo is in my playlist now and I like when it comes around. A weird feeling.

I’ll have it for you sometime in 2025!

📩 Why I insist discussing this:

A Saturday 7 reader emailed me last week saying she has been reading the newsletter since the beginning.

Over the last 7 years...

She started eating more meat and got healthy.
She got some bitcoin and got wealthy.

With her health and wealth, she gets to pursue the things she wants, when she wants, with the people she wants.

Isn't that what everyone wants?

That's what I want for everyone. 

My hope is that this newsletter can be a small nudge in that direction.

Contrast this to an email I got 5 years ago...

So, I'll continue to talk about bitcoin here in this 6th position :)

*In 2013 I dipped my toes into the water, and by 2017 I was all in. I started writing about bitcoin in the newsletter when it launched in 2018, and on March 9th, 2019 when bitcoin dropped under $4k, I couldn’t help myself but say I thought it was a good opportunity — at which time the above email was sent — currently representing a 25X return.

🏁 Why it started:

You'll notice in section 4 of the newsletter I frequently talk about habits and accountability. Two keys to success. 

7 years ago, I wanted to create a habit that would keep me accountable to continuously learning and creating. So I came up with the idea of a Saturday 7 newsletter.

The "7-insights" would represent a daily learning or creative output. I'd then put these in the 7 spots in the newsletter.

The "7:00 a.m." on Saturday came about because that is my favorite time to read. I love waking up on the weekend with a cup of coffee and learning.

The "7-minute" read was based on being able to get all the main ideas in 7-minutes, with the ability to click into deeper dives.

This weekly newsletter has held me accountable!
