After 12 months all I have for you is the Introduction!?
Well, after the first 8 weeks, I actually had "finished" the Introduction, a Prologue, and Chapter 1.
Well, I thought I had finished these.
A few weeks ago, I got an email from Steph Spector, a meat-based eater and newsletter reader, who happened to also be a writing coach. Not knowing what she was getting herself into, she offered to help with the book. I took her up on it and sent her the Introduction.
Less than 48 hours later, I got it back. But I thought there must have been a mistake. It was like a red pen exploded.
Going through the carnage edits, I agreed with just about everything. I cut half the Introduction and went back to the drawing board.
I axed
the Prologue and started re-writing Chapter 1.
I should have known. I talk about it all the time. Coaching is a cheat-code. Whether to turn your health around or to hone your writing, coaching is the closest thing there is to a shortcut.
If you write anything, whether a book or business memo, I highly recommend consulting with a professional like
Steph.
