I have about 1 more month until I complete my 2-year experiment with milk.
Last week, I couldn't get my raw milk
from my usual farmer, so I had to go to the grocery store.
I looked at every single brand. Turning over milk carton after milk carton, I checked all the ingredients, but I couldn't find it...
Not a single brand that didn't fortify with vitamins A and D.
I don't want my milk
fortified with these vitamins (a post for another time), but if they are, they are missing a crucial vitamin...
That's vitamin K2.
These fat-soluble vitamins (A, D3, and K2) work together in calcium metabolism.
Vitamin K2 helps keep calcium out of your
arteries and into bones and teeth.
Best sources of vitamin K2 (MK-4):
• Grass fed dairy fats (i.e. butter, cheese)
• Liver (beef and goose)
• Chicken and pork fat*
So, if you're going to drink commercial milk, make sure
you're also getting your vitamin K2.
