A friend that I see at the gym on a daily basis asked me what he was doing wrong.
Over the last 6 months his weight hasn't moved from 207 and his body fat is stuck at 27%.
For months, I've talked to him about diet and how he
should focus on meat. He said he mostly was.
So I told him to write down every single thing he eats for three days, and then bring it to the gym so I can have a look.
Surprise, surprise. He was eating maybe 50 grams of animal protein per day. The rest was highly processed foods, lots of sugar, seed oils, and grains. He thought he was eating healthy, but he was
basically eating the standard American diet.
If you're stuck:
Step #1, take a detailed inventory of everything you eat in a week.
Step #2, drastically reduce sugar, seed oils, and refined grains, while increasing red meat consumption to at least 1 gram
of protein per pound of ideal body weight.
Step #3 (optional but highly recommended), give that list to qualified coach (here and here) to help you make a new food list that fits you, your life, and your goals.
