On my afternoon walk I was
crossing paths with an elderly woman walking her dog. I smiled. She said, "I like your smile young man!"
Later that day, I was at the gym and an elderly man said, "you have a great physique!"
I got 2 random compliments from elderly strangers.
It got me thinking why saying nice things to others is so rare these days, especially among younger generations.
Once, after re-reading Dale Carnegie for the umpteenth time, I challenged myself to say 1 nice thing a day to someone, anyone, for a month.
By the end of that month, I realized that kind words cut both ways, perhaps doing more to improve my day than theirs.
I dare you to try this: this week, just 1X/day, say something nice to someone. All it takes is simple observation and the courage to speak it.
I'll do it too and report what happens.
