2️⃣ How to fix your metabolism in 2 steps:
This is my 2-Step Hypothesis to Fix a "Broken" Metabolism:
- Burn stored PUFA in adipose to re-establish proper fat saturation and resultant ROS signaling and thermogenesis
- Eat a low PUFA and low sugar diet to maintain proper fat saturation, ROS signaling and thermogenesis
To add a bonus 3rd step:
- During Phase 1: Don't lose muscle
- During Phase 2: Build muscle
This is what we set out to do in the inaugural 6-Week Fat Loss Challenge. And the final results came in last week.
Eric lost a staggering 32+ pounds, 4 belt loops, and looks like a different person. Wendy, who started in great shape, got in tremendous shape. All in 6 weeks (really 4 weeks as the 1st 2 weeks are "setting the foundation").
The average fat loss was 8lbs (~2lbs/week).
The reason it's a 2-step process is because without Step 1 high stores of PUFA in adipose can prevent the proper cellular signaling even if you are limiting their consumption (Step 2).
I theorize this is the reason those who struggle with fat loss on carnivore / meat-based diet can't lose the weight (high PUFA stores, upregulated SCD1, inadequate ROS signaling, down-regulated metabolism / inadequate leptin-induced thermogenesis).

🙋♀️ Who deserves the credit:
A perfect fat loss plan is only, maybe, 20% of what it takes for successful fat loss.
At least 80% of the fat loss success in this coaching program, I believe, came from the coaching and the participants who engage in a combination of community, accountability, and competition. It's a team effort.
What would the results have looked like if I handed out the exact same plan and then just checked back 6 weeks later?
This is why I wanted to create a coaching program in the 1st place. I think everyone should have a health coach. About 2/3rds of adults have a dentist, but only a tiny fraction have a health coach. As someone who has done both, I'd argue a (good) health coach is more important.
The tide is starting to shift though. A recent survey showed that over 60% of people said they'd want a health coach. But most have never had the opportunity. The future of (meat-based) health coaching is bright. It's my goal to help push this forward.
That said, I want to give special thanks to our Coaches and the Team-Behind-the-Scenes who dove in headfirst and did a trust-fall with me (⬅️this is live action of us behind the scenes).

Perhaps you've noticed. I haven't taken off my Meat Health Hoodie since I got it 4 weeks ago. It's warm. St. Louis is (still) cold.
After passing a 4-week testing period, the Meat Health Merch is officially ready!
I can voche for the hoodie and knit hat to keep you warm. The T's are comfortable (wearable multiple days in a row even...well that's what I'm told). The mug, I'm quite sure, kills phytotoxins so you can drink coffee harm-free :)
We'll be adding more items over the coming weeks/months because, obviously, I need a Meat Health cutoff to workout in.
